End of March 2011 a conference was held in Sofia (Bulgaria) on the impacts of EU
trade policies in East Europe and the global South. The event was organized by the
"Creating Coherence on Trade and Development"-consortium. The aim of the
conference was to build civil society strategies to strengthen coherence in trade and
development policies. Below you'll find the programm, most of the audio recordings and

(Debate and film screening at Red House, in Bulgarian and English, with translation).
To what extent do EU Aid-for-trade policies support developing countries' food security and food sovereignty? How does the liberalized trade regime for food and agricultural products
affect the quality of food? What are the social, environmental and economic 'side effects' of free trade? Is there a way from free trade towards fair trade?
